Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart

Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart is a German Chemist who, together with William McDonough, wrote the impressive book: 'Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things'. They called upon the world to transform the human industry by ecological intelligent design, a new industrial revolution. He was given the title extraordinary professor Cradle to cradle by the foundation Rotterdams Sustainability Initiative, this in relation to sustainable system innovations and transitions in theory and practice. This Chair is established at Faculty of Social Sciences at the Dutch Research Institute For Transitions (DRIFT).

 

Nancy Kamp-Roelands

 

Nancy Kamp-Roelands is a program director CSR Management & CSR Auditing at Erasmus University Rotterdam and director of the CSRKnowledgeCenter of Ernst & Young. The postgraduate education of the EUR is aimed at CSR managers, controllers, consultants and auditors.  

She studied business administration at ErasmusUniversity in Rotterdam. In addition she followed the postgraduate courses in accountancy and environmental-accountancy. After that she finished her PhD at TilburgUniversity.

Rob van Tilburg 

Mr. R. van Tilburg is Senior consultant Corporate Social Responsibility at DHV.

The DHV engineering consultancy had a modest beginning, in a single room of a house in The Hague, home of founder Verhey. The complete staff consisted of two draughtsmen and a secretary. Their activities in those early years were mostly in connection with the ongoing Dutch battle against water, heavy storms in January and December 1916 having caused severe damage to the dikes of Noord-Holland and West-Friesland.
 
1 January 2007 marks DHV's 90th birthday. The company has grown into an international knowledge‑based organization with over 4000 employees, active all over the world through a network of companies in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.  

 

Adriaan van Engelen 

Mr. Adriaan van Engelen is director at the Foundation Stimular.

 Stimular has been established in 1990 by the business community in cooperation with governmental institutes in the area of Rotterdam. The first 10 years of the foundation were devoted to stimulate waste and emission reduction, energy saving and other environmental efforts at Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME’s) in the area of Rotterdam. Since the year 2000 Stimular extended its working terrain to integrate Sustainable Entrepreneurship at SME’s.
 
Stimular has experience in many branches of the market, for instance: Metallurgic industry, bakeries, painting, transport, trade, construction, etc. Over a 1000 companies have worked together with Stimular in contentment.
The Stimular foundation does not just supply knowledge about sustainable Entrepreneurship but also develops practical instruments making SME’s better comparable with eachother.
 
The purpose of the foundation is to stimulate firms to make decisions to improve the financial performance of a firm as well as act upon opportunities to improve the environment and the well being of employees and the society. The way in which this is done is by applying custum made solutions, a clear communication and inspiring contacts with entrepreneurs, branches and governmental institutions.
